The California AgrAbility Project, or CalAgrAbility, is a non-profit collaboration of the University of California at Davis Farm Safety Project and California Superior Easter Seals. Together, our mission at CalAgrAbility is to help individuals working in production agriculture who have permanent conditions or injuries that hinder their efforts to continue working on farms. Some conditions are very common, such as arthritis, deteriorating vision, hearing loss (tractor ear), or mobility problems. Other folks face more serious challenges, such as amputations or spinal injuries.

What is important to keep in mind is that there are solutions for dealing with conditions that make it difficult for farmers and workers to continue. A solution may consist merely of rearranging a work site, i.e., moving materials closer, adjusting the height of equipment, or adapting a hand tool so that it is more ergonomically safe for someone with an injury.
