Policy

North Carolina has adopted a Policy that all electronic and Information Technology used by entities under the Aegis of the IRMC in the state of North Carolina be accessible to people with disabilities.  The report of the committee that developed these guidelines is found at: http://irmc.state.nc.us/access/.

The chapter of the State Electronic and Information Architecture dealing with accessibility is found at http://irm.state.nc.us/techarch/chaps/chap13.htm 

An outstanding example of the implementation of this Architecture is seen at www.ncgov.com .  Not only is this site highly accessible, but it won  Computerworld's Honors Award and Government Technology's "Best of the Web" Award.
