The site contains resources related to self-employment and small business options for people with disabilities. It includes multiple listings of available resources and is updated constantly. Dept. of Education: Millions of Dollars for FY 2000 Grants AvailableAlthough the deadline and eligibility requirements vary, the Office of Special Education is seeking applicants for five programs in 2000. All programs must involve people with disabilities or their parents in planning, implementing and evaluating the projects. Programs include: Research and Innovation (for children with disabilities), Technical Assistance and Dissemination, Technology and Media Services, and Community Parent Resource Centers. The U.S. Dept. of Education will also fund up to 28 awards for vocational rehabilitation service projects for American Indians with disabilities. Microsoft Charitable Foundation Assets Top $17.1 BillionThe Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's assets went over $17 billion when Bill Gates and his spouse consolidated their two separate foundations. The couple give $5 billion to the foundation each fiscal quarter. The foundation's main interests so far are in funding projects in education (teacher partnerships), libraries (in low income communities) and global health (women and children's health issues).
