Automatic Sync Technologies Supports Captioning for YouTube; YouTube video can now be made more accessible with captions from CaptionSync

SEATTLE, Wash. -- September 11, 2008 -- Automatic Sync Technologies (AST) today announced its CaptionSync automated captioning system delivers caption output for YouTube video.  This will allow content owners to now bring their YouTube video to a broader audience and into accessibility compliance faster, more affordably, and easier than ever before.  Caption output for YouTube is available immediately at no additional cost to AST users.

"CaptionSync now offers caption and video search output for every major player, including YouTube, Flash, podcasts, Windows Media, QuickTime, Real and more.  YouTube's announcement coupled with caption files from AST now empower the masses to make and captioned their own video content," said Kevin Erler SVP Sales at AST.

CaptionSync is an online service, available 7x24 and delivers high quality captions within minutes.  As an online service, there is no software to buy or install, no set-up fees, and no volume commitments.

Educational institutions and government agencies are required by state and federal laws to caption their video material.  "Until now, there wasn't really an easy way to caption YouTube material, so content owners typically didn't.  AST is trying to remove those barriers so all YouTube content creators can make their video usable by a broader spectrum of users which includes the deaf, hard of hearing, those with learning disabilities, and those with English as a second language," explains Erler.

CaptionSync users can select as many caption output formats as they need, choosing from YouTube, Flash, podcasts, Windows Media Player, QuickTime, Real, broadcast line-21 captions, and/or DVD subtitles.  In addition, AST offers a variety of search data outputs at no additional cost which enable webcasts to be searchable and indexable.
