Memorial Day Blessings on all our dedicated men and women, especially those who have given the Ultimate Sacrifice.

WHEREAS, the United States Military is fighting battles on many fronts in several countries that include Afghanistan, Iraq and others. WHEREAS, our Military has fought Wars and continues to protect our Nation from all enemies foreign and domestic to insure that we can live in this Republic enjoying the freedoms of a Democracy. WHEREAS, War unfortunately has its cost and will leave many Soldiers with Disabilities both physical and mental. WHEREAS, the North Carolina Governors Advocacy Council is the P&A recognized by State and Federal Law to insure the interest of the Disabled are protected. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The members and staff of the Governors Advocacy Council for Persons with Disabilities of North Carolina appreciate the job our Military men and women undertakes every day and the sacrifices they make. 2. The Governors Advocacy Council of North Carolina recognizes that the current World Wars will leave many Soldiers with Disabilities due to the nature of War. 3. The Governors Advocacy Council of North Carolina will within the Laws of this State do all it can to represent and assist the Disabled Soldiers of the current War and all Wars. 4..The Governors Advocacy Council of North Carolina and its staff will not let the politics of war negatively affect the services rendered to our Soldiers, Veterans or anyone else. RESOLVED, FURTHER, the Staff of the Governors Advocacy Council will put together a Pamphlet or Brochure and deliver them to the VA Hospitals in Salisbury, Durham, Asheville and Fayetteville informing Veterans of the services available through the Governors Advocacy Council. RESOLVED, FURTHER, after the transition is made from The Governors Advocacy Council of North Carolina to the new P&A, Disability Rights Center of North Carolina, we encourage the new P&A to adopt the Resolution as a goodwill gesture to our Disabled Veterans RESOLVED, FINALLY, We the Governors Advocacy Council of North Carolina welcome the Soldiers, Sailors, Air men/women and Marines back home, and our thoughts are with those that remain at War and those that have paid the Ultimate Sacrifice.
