HiSoftware Co-Sponsors the Internet Society Disability and Special Needs ChapterConcord, NH —February 20, 2003-HiSoftware, Inc. today announced its co-sponsorship of the Internet Society Disability and Special Needs Chapter. This is the first chapter in the Internet Society that is not a geographically based chapter. It is dedicated to addressing the needs of people with special needs that are related to the Internet and its attendant technologies. The chapter brings together the experts and leaders of the sector presenting the most up to date knowledge and technologies to eliminate barriers and increase the number of users/clients of a "Website". As a web content accessibility interest group, the convenors of this chapter aim to make the Internet and its attendant technologies accessible to the largest audience possible regardless of disabilities. More information about the chapter is available at: http://www.isocdisab.org/about.htm Through its sponsorship, HiSoftware
Company will be providing software solutions, technical resources and additional
educational materials to support the chapter. HiSoftware’s content quality and
accessibility solutions product line includes a combination of user-driven
interactive desktop solutions that allow developers to test their content for
conformance with standards, and server-side applications that provide managers
with automated and remote testing. A scalable architecture provides a faster
deployment time and lower cost of ownership for the solution set. Used together
these solutions enable developers, testers and project teams to verify Web site
accessibility in compliance with Section 508, as well as Custom
corporate-content quality standards. More information about these applications
is available from the HiSoftware Web site: http://www.hisoftware.com/access/index.html “With the support of HiSoftware and organizations like them the possibilities for the chapter are without limit. With HiSoftware’s support and guidance, as well as the support of our chapter members, we have been able to bring up an accessible web site, lay out an outline of a plan, and make a huge amount of progress in a very short time, “ said Mike Burks, Interim Chairman, Internet Society Disability and Special Needs Chapter. “We look forward to the great success of this program” ### ABOUT HISOFTWARE -###- Note to editors: If you are interested in viewing additional information on HiSoftware, please visit the HiSoftware® Web page at http://www.hisoftware.com/press/index.html on HiSoftware’s corporate information pages.
