HiSoftware Company and International Center for Disability Resources on the Internet (ICDRI) Expand Alliance to Provide Solutions for Enterprise Web Accessibility and Content Quality

Concord, NH – August 8, 2003 -- HiSoftware, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise Web Accessibility and Content Quality solutions, today announced an expanded alliance designed to complement The International Center for Disability Resources on the Internet (ICDRI) accessibility consulting practice and to align HiSoftware Company with a proven leader and pioneer in IT Accessibility. Beginning immediately, ICDRI will use HiSoftware Company’s Content Quality and Accessibility product line as part of its Accessibility Audit practice and HiSoftware Company will leverage ICDRI’s training and consulting practice to complement its technology and services offering. Together, this alliance will provide customers with full accessibility software and consulting services and solutions to assist enterprise customers in meeting Section 508 and the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG.)

As an internationally recognized public policy nonprofit center organized by and for people with disabilities, ICDRI’s overarching vision is the equalization of opportunities for persons with disabilities. ICDRI’s Executive Director, Cynthia D. Waddell, combines disability law, policy and technology to lead ICDRI’s Accessibility Oversight Professional Consulting Services. Ms. Waddell was this year’s recipient of the first Government Technology magazine award for Leadership in Accessible Technology and for Pioneering Advocacy and Education.

"HiSoftware is pleased to expand our alliance with ICDRI and to support their efforts through their utilization of our software solutions for both the private and public sector organizations," said Robert B. Yonaitis, CEO and President of HiSoftware Company. “The collaborative alliance and combined strengths of HiSoftware Company and ICDRI supports our mission of providing our customers with the most comprehensive enterprise-wide content policy management solutions available.”

“ICDRI welcomes this expanded alliance with HiSoftware to improve our quality assurance services for clients worldwide,” commented Michael Burks, ICDRI Chairman of the Board. “This alliance is especially helpful as our Executive Director, Cynthia Waddell, continues consultancies for the United Nations in accessible technology transfer for developing countries.”

Previously, HiSoftware Company and ICDRI partnered with the Internet Society Disability and Special Needs Chapter to launch a free-online accessibility-testing portal, Cynthia Says™ that was recently endorsed by the American Council of the Blind. HiSoftware Company’s commercial product line is the underlying technology that powers the Cynthia Says™ portal and desktop solutions..., and these commercial solutions will be utilized by ICDRI as part of their consulting practices.

“HiSoftware’s verification, repair and monitoring software solutions provide a comprehensive interface for testing content against global standards for Accessibility, Privacy, Usability and Search,” said Cynthia Waddell. “These solutions are available as desktop and automated server-based applications and empower quality assurance teams and content developers to create and manage Web Content quality factors.”

HiSoftware Company was the winner of the 2002 Da Vinci award, in recognition of engineering excellence and design innovations that have improved accessibility, and empowered people, regardless of their physical ability. HiSoftware provides “out-of-the-box” testing and reporting for Accessibility, Privacy, Metadata and Usability standards. They also allow users to define and conduct custom tests. The final result is a complete and concise report on the total accessibility, quality and policy compliance status of content that has been tested. The software allows users to work collaboratively on reporting and repair and provides unsurpassed team services, workflow capabilities and a flexible, scalable enterprise monitoring system.
